IRCTC New Tatkal Train Ticket online Booking Charges, Timings, Cancellation Rules, Other Details
IRCTC, an on-line ticketing arm of Indian Railways, introduces new payment options for ticketing both within Tatkal and general quotas.
The IRCTC was introduced for the first time in 1997 for passengers who have to travel by train for a short time. Later, it was gradually introduced into other trains. Before checking for a Tatkal quota, check the availability of the general quota according to the IRCTC website (irredc.co.in). Most of the Tatkal tickets are booked within minutes of opening Tatkal. Today, IRCTC processes approximately 1.30 thousand Tatkal transactions a day. The IRCTC introduces new payment conditions for ticket booking within Tatkal and general quotas. Do not forget: Tatkal is not allowed to book tickets at the train station.
Tatkal Ticket Booking Timing
Booking for Tatkal tickets open one day in advance of the actual date of journey. Bookings for Tatkal tickets of AC classes open at 10:00 am, and for non-AC classes at 11:00 am.
Tatkal Reservation Charges
Tatkal train ticket booking fees were set as a percentage rate of 10% of the basic fare for the second class and 30% of the basic fare for all other classes as listed in the following table:

Tatkal Train Ticket Cancellation
There is no refund for the cancellation of the Tatkal Tickets.
Cancellation of ticket Tatkal for ticket tickets, RAC
RAC (reservation canceled) or reserved ticket reserved for the Tatkal: Refund is made if the ticket is canceled up to 30 minutes before the scheduled departure according to the IRCTC website.
If the confirmed reservation is provided to the RAC or to the ticket holder waiting at any time until the final chart is prepared, such a ticket shall be deemed to have been confirmed.
TDR Filing In Case of Tatkal Booking
If the train is running late for more than three hours or if the train is canceled, please fill in the TDR with the correct reason for claiming a refund, as stated on the IRCTC website.
How to book tickets for the Tatkal train through the new IRCTC device
IRCTC has introduced new payment options for e-tickets (including Tatkal Tickets). One of these services is “Paylater”, operated by Arthashastra Fintech Pvt Ltd, this option allows passengers to book a ticket first and pay later.

When paying for e-tickets, you must choose Paylater from the payment options. For example, in the ePayLater option, you get a payment line via email and SMS when booking. If you use the ePayLater option, the system will ask you to register first.
You will receive a payment of up to 14 days. In principle, ePayLater will pay you for each booking. And as charges you have to pay 3.50% and the applicable taxes.
Other things to know about booking train tickets
In the case of a family e-flight issued on the journey of more than one passenger, some passengers have confirmed the reservation and the other are on the RAC or on the waiting list, full return ticket is acceptable for passengers with confirmed ticket even if the ticket is canceled on-line for all passengers up to thirty minutes before the scheduled departure of the train, is provided by the IRCTC website.
